About Matthew

I grew up in Colorado and still live here. I started skiing when I was three years old and turned it into a career.

Career Background

I enjoy being outdoors, I love helping people, and have a passion for skiing. This made working on ski patrol the perfect career for me. I was able to balance the seasonal work by spending my summers guiding wilderness canoe trips for Keewaydin, Temagami in northern Ontario. I now spend my summers with my two sons spending as much time outdoors as possible.

Treatment Procedure and Recovery Plan

I had a distal femoral osteotomy on January 21, 2014. My timeline for recovery was one year and I returned to work in November, 10 months after my surgery. The surgery was invasive and and my recovery plan required physical therapy 3-5 times a week for a year. I am still working to build strength and continue my recovery but I’m happy to be back at work.
