About Marc

As part of an avid ski family, I began skiing in Banff Alberta at a very early age.  I developed an interest to explore the backcountry and in my late teens began climbing and ski touring with a small group of friends and cousin.  I later joined many close friends in pursuing the certification process with the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides.

Career Background

I went on to become a fully certified Ski Guide, Rock Climbing Guide, Assistant Alpine Guide and Level III Indoor Climbing Instructor. As a founding member of Canada’s climbing team, I was involved in developing sport climbing in Canada.  I worked for many years as a heli-ski guide, as well as leading backcountry trips throughout western Canada and Europe.

Treatment Procedure and Recovery Plan

I underwent knee surgery to repair damaged cartilage.  The recovery time was six months to get back to full level of activity.  Receiving physical therapy while returning to work was very helpful in allowing the knee to strengthen under normal use.
