Date of Surgery: 4/9/2015
Tibia/Fibula Fracture
Update (11/2015): Charlie just finished a season of instructing in Chile and is headed back to Vail for the 2015/2016 winter season.
About Charlie
I live in Vail, Colorado and grew up in Wisconsin. I was a former ski racer.
Career Background
I’ve always enjoyed the ability to communicate what I love to others – and instructing seemed like the best fit. Since I started, it only gets better by the season – new friends, new opportunities, and new places.
Treatment Procedure and Recovery Plan
This was a follow up “hardware removal” from a string of three previous surgeries that resulted from a spiral fracture of my tibia/fibula. Over the course of the last two years, I underwent intense physical therapy and four operations. I was able to ski the last North American winter 2014/15, and thanks to the Kees Brenninkmeyer Foundation, these last three months in Chile.
Testimonial
"The Kees Brenninkmeyer Foundation provided me with the assistance I needed in a very tough time. The support they offered covered everything from pre-operative to post-operative and made a very difficult situation go seamlessly smooth. With their help, I was able to focus on my recovery and my career. I can’t thank them enough. "
